This is an exciting time for everyone involved in any aspect of Guiding.  As we enter into our Centenary Year there is much to celebrate.

When patrols of girls gate-crashed the Boy Scout Rally at Crystal Palace in September 1909 no-one would have imagined or dreamed that this was the beginning of an organisation which would grow to such magnitude.  Sir Robert Baden Powell was determined that girls couldn't be Scouts and so, somewhat reluctantly, he developed the concept of Girl Guides.

Now members of a national organisation of over half a million girls and women and a world wide organisation of ten million we are proud to be part of Girlguiding UK.

Baden Powell would not recognise the world we live in or the superficial trappings of guiding but he would applaud the ethos of the movement which has not substantially changed in the last 100 years since he first created it.

There are going to be so many fantastic opportunities for all of our members during the next year that everyone should be able to find something to join in and this website should help you to make the most of those opportunities.
