Satisfied. Tired. Proud. The holiday of a lifetime. Just some of the thoughts and feelings you might be experiencing when you return from leading a trip abroad.

The girls you took with you will almost certainly be feeling the same way and the mixture of emotions will have resulted in a life-changing experience for all of them.

Deciding to plan and lead a trip abroad is not a decision to be taken lightly. It will require time to plan the trip carefully, hold parents meetings, prepare your girls and fundraise to cover the costs. But you don’t need to do this alone!

There are many experienced Leaders out there who are old-hands at international travel and will be able to offer guidance and encouragement. 

Training...

The GAINING training package was written to support Leaders who are considering taking a group overseas but who do not have the required qualification.

The aim of the training is to increase the awareness of the international opportunities available for members of Girlguiding UK.

It covers the whole planning process and events that may occur during the trip itself.

This training package was designed in conjunction with the Travelling Abroad module of the Camps and Holidays Scheme and will prepare a Leader to gain this module.
