ICE (International Community Experience) is for Guides aged 11-13. The purpose of an ICE weekend is to give girls a taste of community action, increase their global awareness and raise their perception of international opportunities.
For the last eight years Guides from Girlguiding North East England had GREAT FUN on ICE weekends; the girls had a taste of what community action involves. They explored the community, talked to local people, been involved with community links such as RNIB, Guide Dogs and many more organisations.
Those girls who are interested in more community action have the opportunity to work on a Community Project. Recent projects have taken girls to the Republic of Ireland, Edinburgh, Jersey or the Isle of Man.
Two ICE weekends are planned for 2012, 16-18th March and 25-27th May 2012.
