Becoming a Tutor
Once you’ve had some experience as a trainer you may want to consider offering support and guidance to a Prospective Trainer by becoming a Tutor.
Support and Training as a Tutor
You will be expected to attend training either within the region or at a national event. Initially this would be for a weekend or equivalent time. For more details see: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/members_area__go/learning__development/helping_others_to_learn/tutor_training.aspx
A nationally produced resource, Support for Tutors, is available and gives information on the tutoring process and the role and responsibilities of the Tutor.
Once you have attended training you would be offered the chance to work with a Prospective Trainer as need arises.
Two events are held in the region every year (usually in May and November in York) for Prospective Trainers and Tutors to meet. There are also occasional additional training events for Tutors.
You will also receive support from the Region Moderator for the Trainer Qualification, the Region Training Adviser and from other Tutors.
Expenses for attending national Tutor training events are paid by Girlguiding UK. All other Tutor expenses are paid by region.
